A little less wrinkled

So you go to the craft store to get earrings backs (I always need those damn things) and you come home with a scarf! Its funny how they always getcha - on something! Am I right?! Anywho, I am in love with the scarf so I can't complain - especially at the $5 price tag! Wahoo! Scarves have always been something I was drawn to - they help make the outfit so effortlessly - add a scarf to a simple black and while and voila! I love these crinkle scarves because I'm notoriously wrinkled - clothes, brain, hair, car - you get the picture. So thank god I don't have to be held responsible for the lack of wrinkles in this scarf! TGIF Ladies!

Borrowed & Blue

Today's outfit is brought to you by this lovely Chinese pendant of my grandmothers. It's an antique (I know this because she labeled everything - which I now find awesome) So the pendant is of a bird on flowery branch - gorgeous! My grandmother had great taste! I bet yours did too- I know these things. I hope your weekend is going swimmingly!

Fundamentally Free

This awesome outfit is basically free. This top I got courtesy of my brother (for being an awesome sister of course) from Dillard's. This scarf is ripped and has a stain - so it was donated to the store - I'm crafty like that, and I have this terrible problem of not wanting to throw things away. And this skirt was given to me by a friend. So yay! this whole outfit is fundamentally free. And lovely. Enjoy your Friday!

Oh, Jessica.

So since I work at a store, I tend not to do a lot of shopping (who am I kidding - I do A LOT of shopping). Ok, so maybe just not at my store. However I made a special trip recently to good ol' Dillards and found this awesome shirt for only $10! This is from Jessica Simpson and I loooove the sleeves. Its a cool hunter green color which I feel is season-less. So I'm totally looking forward to sporting this one in the winter too. It's sheer so I can change it up with different colors underneath. Thanks Jessica! (we're friends) And I forgive you for that whole tuna-chicken of the sea incident... and I swear I totally understand where you're coming from! But thanks for the sweet top!

Check out these awesome sleeves!

Gorgeous, eh?

A sea of blue, red and white

I'm very excited for the 4th of July weekend coming up. I just love the collective patriotism and the beautiful fireworks in the night sky - always brings tears to my eyes! It really is touching how we all love our country so deeply! So this year I'm going to tackle the ever-present dilemma on July 4th - how to wear Red, White and Blue - just like everyone else and their mother - and stand out among the crowd. I've got two examples that I created with Polyvore that show a casual and a somewhat dressed up look. I'm thinking both these looks are good for a family picnic and fireworks afterwards.

If I had a boat

Today's outfit is brought to you by - my shoes! It's gotta start somewhere right? Lets start at the bottom and work up - shall we? These are my new Havaianas red flip flops! Yay! They are super comfy - and not just like regular flip flops - they got some sort of magical cushion in them ladies. And they aren't big and bulky like most squishy flip flops are, which is nice because I don't like to be too far off the ground. Ya know... fear of heights and all.
This outfit was easy peasy (yeah it's a word... shush.) I absolutely adore red and therefore have lots of jewelry to match - and this lovely top I swear I've had forever - I love shirts like this that are in style forever - simple, classic, clean and wear great!
I'm gonna rock these flippy flops as much as I can so get used to em - they are so comfy I don't wanna leave them lonely too much- so let the obsession of matching red with anything and everything commence!

The same, only different

I swear this whole outfit is based on the earrings. Its funny where you get your inspiration from sometimes. These gorgeous earrings are shells that have been dyed to fade from blue to turquoise - just stunning with gold trim.

So I'm obviously loving this turquoise, black & white combo. Here's an adaptation from my own closet presently - although I wish I could buy that set I made the other day - adorable! This black top is great because it's vertical stripes - therefore its very slimming! And I love these white jeans-  they are soo comfy and I love the contrast it creates!

Yeah, I'm diggin the wayfarer's - but they always remind me of Tom Cruise in Risky Business - tighty whities and all... haha!
